We have officially finished our first week of the rotation! To celebrate we traveled out of Bangkok and went to the Dumnoen Saduak floating market. The market was truly unique in that there were vendor stalls set up on a series of canals. They sold everything from clothing and souvenirs to food. We were able to try coconut ice cream in which they put some ice cream and shavings of coconut right into a half a coconut topped off with sticky rice and peanuts. Marina liked it so much, that she got herself a second bowl!
Today some of us spent our morning going for a hike to the Phraya Nakhon caves. It was such an incredible experience, and the pictures do not represent it well. It was remarkably quiet in the caves which only added to the atmosphere. It was a great end to the first week and I look forward to everything else that Thailand has to offer in the next three weeks!
