Today was one of our busiest days! We started off at the Suan Prung psychiatric hospital. Shown above is a short introductory lecture about the hospital and some of their current common drug therapies.
We even received some snacks to start off our day!
After touring the inpatient and outpatient part of the hospital we stopped at both the male and female wards to speak with the nurses and learn more about their day-to-day activities.
After lunch we gathered for a lecture regarding traditional thai medicine. During this lecture we learned about many common herbs and their uses.
We then took a short trip over to the Thai Traditional Chinese Medicine building where we learned about an outpatient program specifically designed for patients that prefer such treatments.
Shown above is Tom spring receiving acupuncture with some electric therapy!
As well as Dean Tanzer receiving some cupping!
Lastly we were taught to make our own herbal ball compress that we may use at home! Typically they are steamed or warmed and used during or following a traditional thai massage.
Goodnight from Thailand!
